(a) Floor construction has been discussed in various posts earlier.

  1. Types of flooring in general here;
  2. Compacted (solid) ground floor below;
  3. Concrete ground floor here;
  4. Concrete upper floor (slap, precast) here;

The five (5) characteristics of floors are:

  1. compact ground floor (compacted earth)
  2. solid concrete floor (cast on site)
  3. suspended solid concrete floor
  4. suspended timber floor
  5. suspended slab floor (precast)
